La Tribune: " SPECTAT places engineering at the service of artists".
Journal La Tribune profiles the company at SPECTAT :
"The company, based in the Vaucluse region of France, designs sets for opera houses and theaters, but above all floors with improved shock absorption to protect dancers. To expand its business, it is opening up to all sports with support that can be practiced without equipment, from ballet to breakdance, yoga or Pilates."
For the past year, the company has been run by two heads, with the arrival of Arthur Durand, Loïc's son, who will then take over.
The two-employee company from the Vaucluse region provides engineering services for stage sets.
This involves around ten shows a year. This activity takes place in various French venues, including the Opéra de Bordeaux, the Opéra de Toulouse and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. A third of our business comes from this segment.
However, flooring remains the hallmark of SPECTAT. In just over 20 years, 40,000m2 of flooring have been installed in more than 250 halls, and 300,000 tennis balls have been cut.
Its main floor model will also evolve. In partnership with the French Tennis Federation, R&D work is underway to use used balls. Research is focused on retaining the softness and shock-absorbing qualities characteristic of the company's Saltis floors.
This Saltis floor is not the only one the company offers. There are fixed, dismountable and movable floors that can be installed only a few times. Prices vary too. Other types of cushioning, with a foam system for example, are also designed.
