La Tribune: "SPECTAT puts engineering at the service of artists

The newspaper La Tribune presents a portrait of the company SPECTAT:

"The company, based in the Vaucluse region of France, designs sets for opera houses and theaters, but above all, floors with better shock absorption to protect dancers. To increase its activity, it is opening up to all sports with support that can be practiced without equipment, from ballet to breakdance, including yoga and Pilates.

For one year, the company has been operating with two heads with the arrival of Arthur Durand, Loïc's son, who should then take over.

The two-employee company from Vaucluse provides engineering services for show sets.

This concerns about ten shows per year. This activity takes place in various French venues such as the Bordeaux Opera, the Toulouse Opera or the Champs-Elysées Theater. One third of the activity comes from this segment.

However, flooring is still the trademark of SPECTAT. In just over 20 years, 40,000m2 of flooring have been installed in more than 250 rooms and 300,000 tennis balls have been cut.

Its main floor model will evolve. R&D work is underway to use used balls in partnership with the French Tennis Federation. The research is focused on keeping the flexibility and damping qualities that characterize the company's Saltis floors.

This Saltis floor is not the only one offered by the company. There are fixed, removable, and movable ones only a few times. Various prices are also offered. Other types of damping with a foam system for example are also designed.
