Since May 2022, “Le Grand T” theater in Nantes has been undertaking an ambitious project of renovation, expansion, and transformation. By 2025, it will merge with Musique et Danse en Loire-Atlantique to form a completely reimagined space. Located in the heart of a large garden, the new site will feature redesigned areas for artistic creation and spontaneous public practices.
This major project is led by the agency Caractère Spécial, under the guidance of architect Matthieu Poitevin, in collaboration with the scenography agency Changement À Vue.
In November 2024, Spectat had the honor of contributing to this transformation by installing its « Saltis » sprung dance floor in the new 200 m² dance hall. The project team selected an oak parquet finish for its versatility and warm appearance, perfectly suited for this space dedicated to dance.
A key focus of the project was meeting acoustic requirements. Using its unique half-tennis-ball shock absorption technology, Spectat not only met these expectations but also implemented innovative methods to completely isolate the floor from the building structure.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Spectat’s mission: to provide safe, high-performance dance surfaces designed to elevate artistic experiences.
